Through the mediation process, we help our clients to better understand each other, which can lead to a better understanding of their future plans - whether this involves maintaining the relationship or ending it fairly. The question often asked in professional circles is: when is mediation successful? If an atmosphere of trust is established and new information is brought into the mediation, then an understanding can be reached which can help the parties to move forward and this can be a result. At our recent conference we will look at the losses that are common in family conflicts and divorces and that we may encounter in mediations, with the help of psychologists and grief counselling professionals. It can be important as mediators to understand the phenomena and to see the room for manoeuvre.

In part 2 of the conference, we would like to present an online divorce support game for parents and professionals, created by the staff of the Family and Child Welfare Centre of the 2nd District. Then you will hear some book recommendations that can help children of parents going through a divorce in an indirect way.
