When and in what situations should you use it?

• Community task or problem to be solved: littered neighbourhoods, poor public safety, disagreements between residents.
• If there is a big project in the area and there is likely to be opposition from residents.
• If it matters, the parties must be able to work together and find lasting solutions.
• If there are several conflicting opinions or interests on the issue in question, between individuals or groups. Our focus is on promoting Roma-non-Roma dialogue.
• If the topic to be discussed is complicated.
• When faced with the fact that no single party has enough information, it has full power to make decisions.
• If you care about your residents' opinions and want them to stay motivated.

If, as a local government, you are facing situations where it is important to get more local people involved, but it is difficult to mobilise the community and you don't have an effective method in place, we can help! Community planning methodology allows for a simpler decision-making process and brings greater satisfaction to the life of the community: be it a district or a municipality as a whole.

• The planning and implementation process becomes transparent, and participants are correctly informed about the process, thus preventing conflicts arising from lack of information
• We accompany you through the whole process: from mapping to implementation
• Negotiations take place in a peaceful atmosphere because our experienced facilitators are experts in alternative conflict management methods (mediation, restorative practices)
• Participants can voice their opinions and assert their interests

How does it work in practice?

Major investment, Gönyű Power Plant:

"The Partners Hungary Foundation was selected to support the stakeholder management of the Gönyü power plant when it was built.Since 2007, Partners Hungary has been organising the Gönyü Round Table, which we set up and which has met quarterly during the construction phase of the plant and once or twice a year since the plant started operating.
The Round Table aims to keep the public and civil society informed, to develop and maintain a dialogue. Participants were delegated with the aim of reaching a broad base of information through selected individuals.
The roundtables are organised by the mediators of Partners Hungary, Foundation, the client (EON /Uniper) is only a participant. The roundtables are organised on the basis of open dialogue, all issues are discussed, experts are invited if necessary, studies are carried out and presented.
The Round Table has been an absolute success story over the past 10 years, and has fully achieved its objectives. Due to the mixed composition of the Round Table, there were initially many opposing or outright rejecting positions towards the construction and operation of the plant. Thanks to professional organisation and an open and transparent approach, trust has gradually been built up and the Round Table has now evolved into a close cooperation.
The staff of the Partners Hungary Foundation was easily accepted by the participants as impartial participants, and their professional work is crucial for the successful operation of the roundtable and the achievement of our common goals."
